Paper Bead Jewelry

Beads made from paper is not that unusual. However, I never use magazines or advertising material. Yes, you can get some interesting effects. If you are going to spend quality time making beads, then use good quality paper. My preferred paper is Japanese paper, I do also like the high-quality wrapping paper you get in specialist shops. They come in such an amazing array of colors and patterns. They do however have a limited range that varies, depending which part of the world you are in. My suitcase often has carefully folded paper secreted in it. The greatest advantage of this limited range is the likely hood some else has made beads from is rare. Therefore my necklaces have a unique charm.I love paper, especial

I love paper, especial Japanese paper for its color and texture. I only use good quality paper for my paper beads. I do not use newspaper or magazines, not to sure about all the chemicals in the ink. My paper beads are made with high quality papers form Japan and India, they have been hand rolled and varnished to provide durability and waterproofing, but please do not wear in shower or immerse in water.

While my  preferred paper is Japanese paper, I do also like the high-quality wrapping paper you get in specialist shops. They come in such an amazing array of colors and patterns. They do however have a limited range that varies, depending which part of the world you are in.

My suitcase often has carefully folded paper secreted in it. The greatest advantage of this limited range is the likely hood some else has made beads from is rare. Therefore my necklaces have a unique charm.

Buying only one sheet of each paper means I only make one or two necklaces, adding to its uniqueness, individuality, and prestige value.

There three basic shapes, the cylinder, the bell, and a roundish bead. The shape is determined by how you cut your paper. Rectangles will give you the cylinder, the triangle gives you a bell and a diamond will give that roundishness. The narrower the diamond the more round your bead will be. Yes, I know this is very basic, but sometimes it is not obvious to some.

You will need paper, that is somewhere between 30cm and 45cm depending on the thickness of the paper. I make my beads about 2cm to 5cm. After cutting, rolling, gluing and varnishing you are ready to make your necklace, bracelet, earrings, whatever. How many you need is determined by style and your neck size.

Now if really want something no one else will have, why not buy some of my paper beads.
